Affidavits and Statutory Declarations can be conducted online. The client must have access to a webcam and a scanner.

Not all individuals or organizations will accept affidavits or statutory declarations signed online. It is vital that the client first establish that the individual or organization will accept this process before contacting Mobile Notary Services.

After the appointment has been confirmed, the client downloads, reads, and signs the waiver form. The client then scans and sends to Mobile Notary Services the signed waiver form, the document to be sworn, and a copy of the customer’s ID, front and back. These documents must be scanned to Mobile Notary Services at least 30 minutes before the appointment.

At the time of the appointment, Mobile Notary Services will contact the client to set up a Zoom meeting. Ideally, the client will be alone in the room. The client will show Moira their ID through the webcam, and Moira will take them through the oath. After the oath has been sworn, the webcam must be tilted toward the document so Moira can observe the document being signed. The client must not sign until Moira states that she can see the signature line, and at that point the camera can’t be moved until the signature is written. Moira can’t notarize the document without being certain that the person she has spoken to is the person signing the document.

The client will scan the signed document to Moira. Moira will then sign and seal the document. After receiving payment via online payment, Moira will scan the sealed document back to the client. Moira will then mail the original document to the client via mail.
